Draw Near

I was reading this morning in Hebrews 11. Although I have read this chapter before, today when I read verse 6 it stood out to me so much.

“and without faith it is impossible to please God. For he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 (NASB)

The words “Come to” really stuck out to me more than anything else. I think in things that I have been taught in church I had an idea of what I thought it meant, and my thoughts were not all wrong, they were just incomplete. So I looked this phrase up in the Greek text and it pretty much amazed me.

Come to: Draw near to Him in prayer, Sacrifice, Worship, and Devotion of heart and life.

Wow. Do I really ever “come to” God that way. It is amazing how these two simple words can have such a powerful meaning behind them. Reading this today gave me such a desire to really come to God in the way that He is desiring for me to, I hope that it encourages you to do the same.

Blessings, ❤ Ashley
