Proverbs 4:26 KKV

Proverbs 4:26 KJV

“Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.”

I love this verse. When I read it last night I just couldn’t stop reading it so I decided to go to dictionary.com and look up some of the words and it just made it that much better!!! So here is what I found…Ponder: to consider something deeply and thoroughly; to weigh carefully in the mind;Let: to allow or permit Established:  bring into being on a firm or stable basis; to install or settle in a position So then I put it together and read it to myself again…

“Consider deeply, thoroughly and weigh carefully in your mind the path of your feet, Allow your ways to be brought into a firm, stable basis and settled into position”

Wow. A couple things stood out to me when I read that. First of all we have a part to play. We have to Ponder and think really thoroughly about the way we are choosing to go… but then we have to allow God to work out the details and mold and shape the path we are walking down into the path that He has for us. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 16:9 NLT “We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.” We have to let go of the expectations that we have of what our path and life is going to look like because the bottom line is 1: we have no idea, because we are not God and 2: I 100% guarantee that whatever path God has for us is WAY better than any expectation that we are visioning in our minds. Our job is to read His Word and build our relationship with Him so that when we are thoroughly thinking about some decisions we have to make we are lining our thoughts up with the Word and not the World. His job is to work out the details and to lead us and guide us. But we have to “LET” Him do that as well..
